Summer Fun Nationals: July 14, 15, 16, 2023
Grand Finale for “end of an era”: 35 years!

Note from Meri, March 21, 2023

Yes, It is True!  After hosting Summer Fun Nationals for 35 years, it is time to end the long run.  It has been a great run of ski racing and fun, as was the intent in 1989 when we started this event.

I want to thank lots of racers and non racers who have worked very hard to help make these races a huge success!

I also want to thank the 4 racers who have gone the distance and made all 34 previous races and have assured me they will definitely make the 35th, Grand Finale event: Joseph Mucci, Knut Olberg, Ann Ozuna and Dave Prochazka.  You guys are amazing to have stuck with me all these years!  There are many others who have made most of the races and I want to thank you as well.

We all want to invite everyone to come join in the Grand Finale Event and share ski racing, fun and memories on July 14-15-16, 2023 at Mt Hood!

As always, this action filled race weekend starts off Friday afternoon with a welcome party and racer check-in.

Many racers show up early for a few days’ race training at a camp to warm their legs up for the race. Some train for just a day or two of warm up, while others just show up and race.
